paulo amendoeira | martín sanhueza
ruído blanco is a duo based in Bern featuring Martín Sanhueza (guitars) and Paulo Amendoeira (percussion). Crossing their paths at the HKB from the first time on free improvisation lessons with Marc Unternährer and Cansu Tanrikulu, they soon began to build a repertoire of written music, with the aim of combining both worlds in a single concept.
During their studies, the duo received coaching from Brian Archinal, Antoine Françoise, Elena Casoli, Olivier Vivares and Tom de Cock.
They focus on developing new repertoire for the duo working close to young composers, as well as having deep interest in existing repertoire from the last few decades. It is in the fundamental interest of the duo to blur the lines between composer-performer roles, thus assuming themselves as co-creators of new pieces.
For the season 25/26, the duo projects concerts featuring music by Sarah Nemtsov, Michael Maierhof, Ilona Perger and Tamara Miller, under the sound and aesthetic research of the post-instrumentalism concept, as well as a premiere of Jorge Villoslada Durán’s music theater ‘Wir werden alle gefressen’.
